Retainer

From $500

Sometimes you just need someone to tidy up a presentation you’re giving tomorrow. Or design an infographic …before lunch. If your company needs things last-minute on a regular basis, a retainer is a solid way to be sure a designer is standing by—figuratively across the hall. Let me know what your unique needs might be and we’ll develop a customized arrangement.

Logo Design

From $1200 [or ask me about a starter logo*]

I charge a negotiable fixed fee for logo design, based primarily on the size of the company and expected reach of the mark. A local coffee shop logo wouldn’t automatically fit the needs of a multinational corporation—Starbucks famously taught us this lesson. The bigger the company, the higher the stakes.

Further, a fixed fee accounts for time spent thinking about your logo while I’m doing dishes, or stuck in traffic; keeping track of those hours is not only implausible, but it would easily end up costing a lot more. Regardless of how long it takes to achieve a strong solution, the value of the end product is the same.

* Conceived with startups in mind, a starter logo is developed much like a regular logo, but with an objective of “good enough for now”. A great fit for very-early-stage startups churning out pitch decks for investors. Later, subtract the cost of the starter ($600) from a logo design or visual identity package and we can pick up where we left off!

Visual Identity

From $2000

In addition to a logo, I’ll develop additional visual concepts tailored to your brand, recommend paired fonts for use in all your written communications, curate a full color palette, and design a brand style guide to keep it all in line. For an additional amount, add custom iconography, illustrations, photo style recommendations, a stationery package, social media profile images, a presentation deck template, or anything else you’d like.

Whatever

$100/hr, or fixed fee

Presentations. Fridge magnets. Layered illustrations for animations. You name it.

Design can and should be applied to practically everything a business puts into the world. Customers appreciate it, even if they don’t know it’s happening, and there’s no substitute for basic consideration.

And because design philosophy can be applied to all kinds of projects, I am always open to working on... anything, really. I’ve been fortunate to lend my eye to clients in need of everything from just kerning (adjusting the spaces between letters) to consulting on UX/UI projects. I’ve even rearranged furniture and product displays in public areas (nobody asked me to, but they haven’t moved it back yet).

I’ve also composed Addy Award-winning music and written copy for TV and radio commercials, produced and directed scores of videos, and written and starred in an original comedy pilot for MTV. Who still says “scores”? This guy.

"Good Faith" Deposit 〰️

A deposit of 50% down on all fixed fee projects ensures that I can start work in earnest and block off your time in my schedule. In exchange for your trust in me, I’ll then work for the duration of the project* and you can pay the balance due once you’re happy with the results.

* - On the off-chance that you need to end the project for any reason, the deposit serves as a termination fee; it’s only refundable if I haven’t started working yet.
